The revocation of Canadian citizenship is a very serious matter. The revocation of Canadian citizenship will likely have a tremendous impact on the life and future of the person concerned. Depending on the reasons provided for seeking revocation, a person who loses his citizenship may lose his permanent residence and be removed from Canada. Citizenship may be revoked due to below reasons:

  • False Representative
  • Fraud Documents and information
  • Deliberately concealing material circumstances
  • On the basis of convictions found guilty of terrorism, high treason, treason or espionage
  • As a member of the country's armed forces or as a member of an organized armed group and that country or group engaged in armed conflict with Canada.
  • If a person (who is a dual citizen), before or after the enactment of subsections 10 (2) and 10.1 (2).
